Today was my third day with the precious children of Nicaragua.
It is a joy and a privilege to hear them call me "La Profe" which to them is short for teacher. Every morning I look forward to seeing familiar faces and some new faces.
This morning I received one of my greatest joys; ALL 27+ children welcomed me with a hug and a kiss on the cheek . . . I almost lost it. My heart burst with joy and I couldn't help the tears. I thought to myself, "God, I don't deserve this, but thank you!" I love the children so much and I hope that through me they know the love of Jesus. During these last three days I have been reading to them a story called The Miracle of Samuelito.
It is a story of how a 9 year old boy comes to Jesus Christ and his prayer of going to school is answered. At the "escuelita" or little school we also sing, pray and color.
They all get a prize for participation and then we go out to play! Today we had a special guest, Madeleine, who came and taught the children how to brush their teeth with toothpaste and how to floss.
A large number of them don't have a toothbrush nor do they know how, or what the toothpaste is for. The team was blessed with these supplies and all the children received them!
Having wonderful time, wish you were here
