Dear Family and Friends,
As February 16 quickly approaches, the nine members for the Kiev mission team are filled with excitement and anticipation of what the Lord has planned for our two-week mission trip (Feb 16-March 1). We are certain of this: God will be glorified! And it will be our joy to participate in His plan.

We are all members of Menlo Park Presbyterian Church which has a vibrant heart for missions and is involved with 50 different ministries internationally in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, and Europe. MPPC’s first Kiev team served in April 2000, and we are now the fifth team. We will be involved in the work of the Mission Support Agency (MSA) which brings the message of Christ to the street children in Kiev, feeds them through their programs and attempts to get them into the government shelters or orphanages. MSA also works with men and women in nine addiction recovery homes. We will be providing children’s programs, dental and medical care, and addiction treatment and sharing God’s love.

Our team’s vision is
To touch as many people as possible with the love of Christ
To continue to lay the ground work for the ministry in Kiev
To try, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to live out the teachings of Christ and to let that light shine.
James 5:16 says "The prayers of a righteous man are powerful and effective." We could not attempt this mission trip without the prayers and support of you, our family and friends. Therefore, the purpose of this letter is to ask each of you to pray daily for our team and the Ukrainians God has planned to unite us with.

Please pray for:
Our hearts and the hearts of those we meet to be open to growing in Christ
Safety and good health
The Lord’s protection from government intervention
The children to feel Christ’s love through us
The medical/dental needs of those who need it most to be met
Our trip to be an encouragement and a support to the MSA crew
Language barriers to be minimized and for the team to use our limited Russian phrases joyfully
The team to grow in unity and in appreciation of the Ukrainian people and culture
God’s peace and support of family and friends during our absence
God to fill us upon our return with renewed direction, joy and commitment in service to Him.
We will be giving a team report on Sunday, March 17, at 12:15pm in D-11 at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church and will be eager to share our experiences with you. Please join us.

Thanks you for your loving support and your prayers,
The Kiev February 2002 Team
