Day 2

Day 2 began with travel: we went from Singapore to Medan, Indonesia. We had a several-hour layover in Medan & got through the airport unscathed. Then we took off for Banda, Aceh. We were all pretty fired up: everybody because this was the destination where we were to hold our first clinic; me additionally because this was a really exotic location -- the tip of the fabled island of Sumatra in an area until the Tsunami that was closed to westerners. We landed and it began to rain. We struggled once again with our 28x40+ pound checked bags, and with the help of our contacts in Banda, at last made it to the house where we're currently staying, ate dinner, had devotions and went to sleep (quite soundly).
